The overlords at the NCAA Football Rules Committee have some changes for College Football next year. Here are the main changes you will see in 2007:

  • When a change of possession occurs the clock will start at the snap, not when the official marks the ball ready to play.
  • On a kickoff the clock starts when a returner touches the ball, not when it is kicked.
  • Instant replays will now be limited to 2 minutes
  • Kickoffs will be pushed back 5 yards - to the 30 yard line. **Less touchbacks! I like this one.

All these changes are said to increase the speed of the game, so far it looks like they hit the mark...we shall see.
