For the past week I have been on vacation in Florida...this is a good thing coming from the cold of the Northeast. This is an even better thing for a College Football fan. Down here everyone roots for one College Football team or another, either your a fan of the Gators, the Seminoles or even the South Florida Bulls. From talking to random college football fans down here it became clear that most arent alumni - they are just fans. This is a nice change from the Northeast where there isnt that large of a big time College Football fan base - at least not like down here. I guess this has to do with the lack of big time football programs in the area.

Within easy driving distance from NYC you have very few options and before Rutgers showed up on the scene there was nothing. In the Northeast you really only have two or three big time programs - Syracuse, Boston College and Rutgers - you can add Army into that just because of their history.

Next year I want to come down here during the College Football season and see how it is on a Saturday when the Gators or the Seminoles are playing - I bet you its awesome.
