You heard that right. The word on the street is that Coach Willingham  is seriously thinking about starting Jake Locker in Washington's season opener against Syracuse. Locker, who is a redshirt freshman, was a much heralded recruit out of Ferndale, Washington who was also a top baseball recruit.

Coach Willingham said: "If we had to play a game today, Jake Locker would be our quarterback" - That is a big shot in the arm for a kid who hasnt started a college game. The good news is that their season opener is against a weak Syracuse team so its not like he is being tested against a PAC-10 power house or anything.
